Hi Lori,
I was wondering if the rehab/vendor do any mapping while you were lying down? If there is pressure when you're in bed with your head elevated, it might start the problem and then it gets worse when you're up. That's what I'm looking into because I put a Simmons mattress on my bed under my mattress pad earlier this year and now I'm battling a crease wound. It feels like my butt is in a small hollow so it makes it harder to shift around when I'm in bed. I've ordered a harder mattress to see if it will hold my butt up better.
Just a thought, and I'll let you know how the harder mattress works out.

A rehab/vendor guy came & pressure mapped my as* today. Unsurprisingly, my current seating system shows little to no pressure since we weren't convinced that caused my wound.
We think my wound began because of moisture & maybe then exacerbated by underwear in the crease and SOME pressure on it when sitting. Other than wearing pads or powder ... how do you women stay dry? This is a relatively new problem for me --- wound from moisture so am looking for ideas.
Turning 40 did it! LOL. Either way, I've been staying completely off of it going on 5 months. Despite great nutrition, high protein drinks, proper vitamins and staying off of it ... it's a bugger healing COMPLETELY. There's only a pinhole left to it but that's been present for a month. The ar! ea around it wants to stay red despite no pressure. Ugh!
I tried out 2 popular cushions (Roho quad and ummm, pooh - Brain blurp!) and the second one seems better for me pressure-wise, heigth and so on.
However... if my seating isn't the problem according to the pressure mapping device what's my strategy???
He left the one cushion here for me to try over the weekend. Second issue is that I'm in the market for a new wheelchair, SO that has decision making multiplied. Get a cushion or no? As Medicare will only pay for one. We plan on moving so we think it best to wait till we move to move on trying out new chairs so the vendor will be close by.
Feels god to be up for a few hours after 4 days in bed though!
