From: Stuntman   KERRY conceded, get over it already.
My suggestion is that time and energy would serve the quad community
better if we concentrate on S. 1394 (the money follows the person act)
which is coming before the Senate.

It's funny that all these political discussion threads are so similar to religious threads.  People are going to believe and go along with and follow whichever truth they see fit.  Or the lesser of two evils or boll weevils :-)

Darn right KERRY CONECED, GET OVER IT!

Further, referring to Stuntman's post above too ... hubby & I were just talking yesterday about how much more Chris Reeve could have done to improve the quality of life (home care, etc) of so many quads rather than his major focus of HIM being able to walk in 5 yrs or, for sure, his lifetime.  As Stuntman said abt politics ... "time & energy would serve the quad community better if concentrating on ...."

Now that our poster boy is dead I doubt the foundation's efforts will be as strong. I still believe his treatments killed him ... voluntarily or not.  Strangely similar, some might say, that Jesus died to save us.  I never saw Reeve as a hero or dying for us.  But the firey powerful possessions of beliefs in politics and religion aren't much different.

I used to hear regularly (newsletter and all) for years about the Miami Projects research on SCI research.  I know it's still going but not so much in the public eye.  (Miami project began by father of a famous football player ... Mark Bunicottii (sp?) who had a spinal injury from a play about 12-15 yrs ago or more.)

In my opinion, the PVA chapters do the best in all categories.  Advocating, awareness, NEEDS OF NOW, etc.
