Mark, Rassmann was not a regular on a swiftboat, he was there for one day, kerry's boat gunned the engines to get out of the situation when the other boat hit a mine, as in the heat of the moment it was not known if it had been a mine or what by those on his boat. Rassmann's version didn't match that. Why? He was out of his element and the cause of his ending up suddenly in the water had once been reported by him as kerry's boat hitting a second mine (which would have caused damage to the boat). Now do I know if kerry had told him that they had hit a mine? No. But Kerry has now admitted that it was his boat that left and returned while the other boats rescued the crewmen from the boat that hit the mine. Like his "seared into his memory Christmas in Cambodia", kerry had a knack for embellishment. It was wierd the way he would re-enact battles he never fought for the camera he brought with him. Like I keep saying, kerry could clear up a lot of this controversy if he'd just release all his records. I have no doubt the Rassmann is an honorable man, I believe he just told his version from his perspective, which was flying out of a boat, coming up to the surface and hearing gunfire and seeing tracers he dove back down, coming back up (who knows how many times he dove back down) to find kerrys boat (which wasn't there the first time he surfaced) and kerry helping him into the boat.
Funny that the media only focused on some of those questionable accounts by the swifties, ignoring the gapping holes in kerry's which after found were ignored. Like which boat fled, where was the damage to all the boats sitting like ducks in a barrel? Why didn't ANYONE have at least a bullet wound? The official records quoted by the media were not the battle field reports, those would require kerrys signiture to be released as he wrote them and they are part of his military records. Stuntman > Amazing you actually put the blame of Rassmann falling out of the boat on > Kerry! > It's also funny how this statement is pretty precise in detail but in an > earlier post > you said peoples memory are probably fuzzy as to the incident, so you can't > have it > both ways because if the incident was that clear to whoever you read this > from I would > think Rassmann's memory would be more credible being it was his life on the > line, kind of like the accident that left me a quad I can recall every bit > of it in fine detail much like you probably could. > I didn't get this info off of Kerry's web site either. > This group has been discredited so many times by themselves it's pitiful we > even have > to argue how corrupt they are. -- It's not the fall that hurts.
