Dan,
I am a c5/6 incomplete, 4 1/2 years post quad. Every time I would
need to be catheterized or if I had a indwelling catheter I would end up with a
UTI 100% of the time. I would be put on antibiotics and then my
bowels would get real loose and I would have nothing but messes. I
use a condom catheter now and I have not had a UTI for approximately 3 1/2
years. Anytime I even think I'm having the start of a UTI, I try to drink
at least 90 ounces of water as fast as I can and then I go to bed and urinate
all night. When I wake up I am UTI symptom-free.
