Hey Stunman,
My first chair was a quickie and had it 5 years with only the switch from my LaBac go out because I broke it actually.
I've never changed the batterries in 5 years and it's slower now but still going but a very solid chair the only thing that I didn't like was I had a quickie P320 and it has absolutely no suspension which wore you out during the day but all in all a great chair.

Subject: Re: [QUAD-L] wheelchairs (what's good and what's bad)?
I've had nothing but good luck with my Quikies, they are fast and my first one is now my back-up after 8 years of hard service which included 4 years of college. I've gotten 3 yrs out of 1 set of batteries and that was while going to school 4 days per week. That said, if you have good support and service for Invacare products in your area, it might be a good idea to check out the quality of support for other manufactures chairs. Not all areas are equal. Another consideration is the type of controls you use etc. Like a good pair of shoes there is no one size/type fits all when it comes to chairs. A place to look over some dif chairs: Do they have an Abilities expo near you? Or: http://www.sunrisemedical.com/index.jsp Good luck. Stuntman

But, I have a question for you all. I'm supposed to be getting a new wheelchair and I was wondering if switching from an Invacare would be appropriate. Currently I had an Invacare Rangers x storm series. Different people have suggested that I get either a quickie or a permobile. I just don't know which way to go. I haven't had any trouble with my Invacare, but if there is a better power chair out there please let me know. > > Nyree > >
