My Mom is in Florida and told me the employment is terrible down
there. Her and her boyfriend have had on a off troubles since they have
been there. They get comfortable in a job and then get laid off. Her
boyfriend had an awesome job at Brunswik and got laid off. When they
started hiring again he had to apply and get interviewed all over again.
He did get hired so its not like he wasn't doing a good job. Evidently in
Florida employers are not required to hire those they have laid off
first. Same with my Mom. She ended up working for a temp agency
which isn't much work either. Also the benefits down there are terrible
for disabled. My mom had to get state help and ended up with a terrible
doctor. They chose the doctor for her based on where she lives. That
could be her county though. I'd rather be cold then put up with that crap
plus I just dont like it there very much. The only benefit is it's warm
in the winter, but way too damn hot in the summer. I love it where I
live. The summers aren't that bad because I live just a couple of miles
from the ocean. We do get snow but not very much. They are calling
for a storm that they will definatly get snow up the road a bit and we
might. Although I said that, we will get it. There is just so much
humidity in the air by the water, we get rain. I would probably only move
is if work was somewhere else.
