I don't think it was just by accident that this twist comes in the last five minutes of the movie. Even if Mr. Eastwood had wanted to make a movie about the 'Right to Die' issue, he should not have had the 'Mercy Killing' right after the accident with no life experiences to help the character make an informed decision. I don't understand why this question hasn't been addressed more in the mainstream media or in the disability community.
