I was a certified first responder for our local volunteer fire department
with a lot of emergency medical training. As soon as I hit the floor I
knew I was paralyzed and told somebody to call 911. When I arrived at the
hospital the assistant chief's wife from our fire department was working in
trauma as an R. N. and she confirmed that I was paralyzed.
