Elevators must be licensed and inspected yearly by your local inspector. Porch Lifts a usually open platforms that lift up to 96 inches. The newer platforms have enough limit switches to drive most sane people crazy. So know what you are getting. A typical lift may cost 2500-4000 dollars depending on what they do, who operates them and where they are mounted.
