I just got more information on the quad I was trying to help.  His wife 
is his only caregiver.  I thought she was just getting burned out.  
Apparently she has cancer and the chemo has rendered her too weak to get 
him out of bed.  They don't have a lift.  As long as I'm on the subject, 
anyone know where to find a used hoyer?  So any additional thoughts you 
might have would be appreciated. 

Doesn't being disabled automatically qualify one for Medicare?  If so, 
how long does it take to cover you after you apply?  I thought I saw 
something in a newsletter about a waiting period.  Thanks
