I pay $296 a month too-starting in September. It is a huge amount for me to
pay and was wondering how Medicare would go with the scripts. The letter I
got said I had to do nothing since I am Medicaid/care eligible. I will be
getting a letter sometime telling me what I wiill need to do. I hope it
works better for my mom who pays full price for her meds right now. She got
one the other day and I saw the cost--$90! Her insurance has a high--oh,
can't think of it, durn brain burps!!--so is useless. She is on Medicare,
but will have to see whzt category she winds up in as she is married and
they are retired.
Just some thoughts.

Medicaid recipients have a whole new thing to look into and the

will fall through the cracks!
I read these articles and it didn't sound complicated to me. Since I am
currently dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid will automatically be
deemed eligible for low-income subsidies. Because my income is more than
$9,570 but less than $12,920 I will have a co-pay $2/generic
$5/brand-name.
So I will be paying $12 monthly for the 3 prescriptions. I already pay
$276
monthly "spend-down" to qualify for Medicaid so the $12 will count toward
that. Bottom line, no more out-of-pocket expense than what I have now.
