I had a bunch of stones removed in 1991-92 that I didn't even know I had! They didn't cause UTIs or anything but I had a cystoscopy done and were removed then & there. The office-procedure went smoothly but THE ENTIRE WEEK after I had SEVERE bouts of AD when lying down after sitting up all day.
I may need to have another cysto done soon but am scared to death. I've heard that B&O suppositories
or "NITRO-BID" (Nitroglycerin Ointment USP, 2%) to keep at home for AD.
And I have the little card on what to do if AD occurs (where Drs are unfamiliar with it) including an IV solution that I got from the PVA to carry in my purse at all times.

Stones almost killed me causing severe autonomic dysreflexia when i wore a Foley. I had to go under anesthesia to have them removed. I finally had an augment/mithronoff procedure and now independently cath thru my belly button

Hi LQ,
In '87 I had a few bladder stones, about dime sized, removed using Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). I'm careful to keep my calcium intake down now, and haven't had any problems since then.
