Hi Carolyn,

Welcome to the Quad-List.  I hope your Christmas was blessed with family and love.  I had a wonderful Christmas Day.  My youngest son and his family were here, so two of my four Grandchildren were here with me.  I talked to my other two on the phone on Christmas, so I know they all had good Day, too.  I was 23 when I became a C4/5 Quad, so 19 does seem young to me, and I'll be 30 years post in April, but 42 doesn't seem like it's that too far away for me, though.  I can see myself in another 12 years still hanging around staying busy and being with my family.  My Grandma is 98, has a mind as sharp as a tack, and can touch the floor, while standing up, without bending her legs!  I think having family around keeps us all young.  :-)

I was on a Stryker Frame in '76, and when my only Gran! dson was born in '93, he was born in Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  The same hospital that in '41 Homer H. Stryker [http://www.whonamedit.com/doctor.cfm/2401.html] used a workshop in the basement to invent his turning frame that played a part in saving my life back in '76.  Life sure can be amazing at times.

Take care and stay strong.

With Love,

CtrlAltDel aka Dave

Hi Everyone,
Merry Xmas! My name is Carolyn and I've kinda new to the list. I am a c3/4 quad injured in 1963 due to a car accident, a long 42 year ago. Back in those days I was on a Strike! r Frame and I also had my neck fused. I'm 61 and my Husband is 65. January we will be married 40 years. We have one daughter and 2 wonderful Grandchildren. He has been my caregiver from the beginning......there have been some rough times but we are still together. My heart goes out to you Honic and your Husband. I enjoy this list and have learned a lot from the postings. Even though its been 42 years I still have a lot to learn. Steph where are you in FL. I'm in Tamarac, FL.
Merry Xmas to everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you will share your knowledge. I hope he gets to feeling better, but I understand the pulmonary problems as I have from time to time. I wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year .
