Congratulations!  My fiancee and I could only have a commitment ceremony for this very reason.  In Wisconsin, if we got married, part of her income would become mine making me ineligible for Medicaid.  In our governments eyes, family values only applies to those outside the Medicaid system.  It's so frustrating.  It wouldn't cost the government a penny more to keep our finances separate.  I guess trying to squeeze a few bucks out of people like us is more important to them.

I asked my girlfriend (Kathy) to marry me about five days before Christmas. I called her and my son into the living room; I flipped my leg rest to the side and threw my leg down- I then said "I cannot get down on one knee; I pulled out the ring and asked if she would marry me. She said are you kidding (yes), are you kidding (yes); she was very happy. Now do any of you know about waiver rules and laws. I am pretty sure their is a way to keep finances separate for me to keep my waiver- so long as the Iraq war doesn't eat my waiver before I get a chance to save-guard it.
