Lori,
Bless your heart, you've had some awful
experiences! I've had more cystoscopies than I can recall, actually and, luckily
for me, never a bad experience with any of them. I usually have them to remove
numerous large bladder stones but my last one (Oct 2005) was done along
with my getting a supra pubic catheter. In every cystscopy instance
though I've had it done outpatient at a hospital under general
anesthesia. The only "crappy" effect I've ever felt was a temporary worsening of
bladder spasms.
Have you had the same dr perform your cystos? Do
you know what anesthesia was used when you had an adverse reaction? I've
heard, but don't know how true it is, of quads undergoing this with just a
local and faring much better - wonder (if it's true) if this would work for you?
Best of luck,
Steph
