Dosn't all the United States have the Medicade Funded Waiver Program ? They
pay for your Rn's ,Aid's so on..Is this not available where you live? I know I
hate people coming in and out of my house I don't know!! I too have gotten
stuff stolen..I finally talked my buddies wife into doing it for me!! For 3
year's I've been enjoying her ..I like being by myself too..But I'm glad I have
someone I get along with as much as I do her ..I still do for myself as much as
I can..and spend time alone during the day once I'm up in my chair..I've got 20
year's under my belt now.. Family's need's to give us some since of
independence..It keep's us sain..At least me!!

Hi,
I had wonderful insurance that paid 100% of nursing care/ RN's but when my company was bought out they decided to change the policy and dramatically increase the premiums to where it was no longer affordable or practical, in regards to the time a nurse could spend caring for one in the home per day. So I had to cancel the policy and now my only insurance is Medicare, thank God. Medicare might not be the best but I am very glad I have it. There are arguments among my family as to whether I need an attendance with me seven or eight or 10 hours during the day five days a week. I believe that some days I can be independent and do not need anyone with me. That once I am in the chair supplied with something to drink and access to a phone, I am pretty independent on the computer and do not feel the need to pay for someone just to be there with me. My point of view is not only based on the financial costs but also practic! al viewpoint. Because I am not currently working, why should I pay and use my dwindling resources to pay for someone to do very little besides give me lunch. I can survive without lunch one or two days during the week and without
someone been with me during the day. Some family members believe that I
shouldn't be a long and that regardless of cost just having someone with me in
case of the unforeseen is best.
I go back and forth and just wanted to learn what others have done our
believe if they have been or are experiencing similar
circumstances.
