Hi Steph,

Have you made any final decisions about weather you definitely want to move out of the nursing home?  I can't really comment on weather I think you should give it a shot or not as I'm a para, so I don't know the full effects of being a quad...

BUT, having said that I think it's fantastic that you've got the boom to wanna get back out there in the world, so what ever you decide to do I think the best thing you can do would be to follow your heart all the way.  Don't get tempted by your head telling you all the positive bits of it all and forgetting the tougher parts!

I'm sure you'll make the right decision for you......

Hey Everyone,

As you all may or may not know I've been living in a nursing home for 4 years and when I first got on this list many here encouraged me to think about getting out of it. But, at the time, I wasn't ready. Well, call it an itch, call it craziness but I'm longing to be out in the world again but need advice - is it worth attempting? Where should I begin my journey?

I live in rural North Florida near Jacksonville and know that Sec 8 housing there is backlogged, but maybe I can try? I'm not a SCI and don't qualify for the BSCIP programs. Give me pointers, ladies and gentlemen, please? :o)
