Hi LQ,

Congratulations on your achievements!  No one but another Quad would appreciate just how well you are doing, and how much work you do to make it that way.  I am just one that does see what you do to make it so.  Good luck and stay strong.

Well I want to share my progress in OT/PT.

I got pants unbuttoned for the 1st time in 7+ years on Tuesday... boy was it frustrating LOL... I’ve been working on it with the tool they let me have... I timed myself tonight so I could be aware of my body and when the urge to go comes. It took 38 seconds on a bad try to get them unbuttoned. It takes around 18 to button them.

My mom made me a tool today to unzip pants. Well tonight I got them unzipped. Considering these are new pants it was little tough getting down all the way. I guess curiosity was working on me, so I thought! I would try getting the undies out of the way and peeking. The stoma wasn’t as far down as I thought. I got one of the kits we have been using and couldn’t even get the catheter out of the tip of the bag. LOL

My mom got a cath and a bottle and said for me to give it a whirl, she was going walkin! g. I sat there a second sizing up the task, looks easy enough, so I put the end of the catheter into the bottle and moved the undies down again. I got the tip of the catheter in with my right hand and started pushing it in with left. Lo and behold it was going in!!!! It only took 4 inches and BAM!!! I catheterized myself for the 1st time today!!!! That was so much fun!!! Now com! es the cleaning the catheter part. I will work that tomorrow!!!
