Last Saturday and went to a brand-new retro McDonald's that was built here
in Duluth for breakfast. I have not had a McMuffin since I've been hurt so
since I was going shopping I decided to stop there with my caregiver. Now, this
McDonald's is maybe only six months old. Anyway, they had very nice
handicapped parking spots but when I went up to the door I was not able to open
it because the concrete slab was only approximately 6 inches wider than the door
was and so was the entryway door inside the building. I need a minimum of
30 inches wider so my wheelchair have enough room for the door to swing by it
when I pull an open. Once I got inside everything was plenty big for a
wheelchair to wheel around in. I just thought that it was strange that
since the building's brand-new it's still not accessible for people in
wheelchairs unless somebody is with them. I'm not going to send the
manager a letter but I'm planning on sending the corporate office a
e-mail.
