Steph your state has a website for dept of health and you should be able to google it and find it.
You need someone with you and they won't ignore you Steph preferably in a suit just standing there and when they ask who he or she is just smile and say a good friend.
You have rights there Steph so exercise them and if you don't know your rights ask for a copy of them.
The one they hate the most btw is that "You have a right to your own schedule" and I for one liked that one because you can get up when you want or shower when you want or what ever but you have to be reasonable.

How do I get in contact with State Dept? You're right about ombudsman - they're just nursing home lackeys, imo. Also, I've asked to look at my files several times over last 4 years and been put off or ignored.
