No Lori I didn't mean we like I profited it's the company I work for.
Rogers is a beautiful place too it does have a lot of college kids.
I have a friend that sold their home in Glendora, Ca. last year it was around 2300 ft and sold for $650,000 and found a house in Marshall Arkansas with 4500 ft and 1500 ft guest house on 40 acres with a pond for $250,000 it was an older home but it looks awesome up on that hill and they have Elk crossing their property and yes Elk in Arkansas go figure it's part of a Game & Fish project.

HI Mark,
It seems that just about anywhere in the United States is cheaper to live than Arizona, California, New York City, Washington, DC area, Hawaii, and maybe a few others.
The Southern states and the Midwest are definitely definitely definitely more reasonable. And, yes, you can get much more house and land for your money in those areas.
We noticed a house in Rogers, Arkansas. Just by using a search and curiosity. It was built in 1992, has over 2500 ft.² and sits on an acre. I am sure there are many more like it. Tucson, Arizona has delusions of grandeur and I have no idea how all these people can afford to live here. Even if they can afford to buy the house I don't know how they can afford the taxes!
I don't know why we have to be penalized for being married but that's our government for you.
Rogers, obviously to you, is in northwest Arkansas. What area of Arkansas do you live?
And when you said that "We just sold a 4000 ft custom home on a golf course here for $284,000" ... when you say "we" ... I am assuming that you mean the area and not YOU personally. Do I understand that correctly? Because I cannot imagine you pocketing $284,000 and still qualify for Medicaid. LOL. Whereabouts was this house?
We are drooling over a home located in Lake Livingston, Texas. IF and when we are able to purchase a property ... we are looking for a very large bedroom. The house that I mentioned in Rogers has a master bedroom that is 24 x 16. The house that we like in Texas has a master bedroom of 20 x 25 feet. PLUS a guest house on the same property. If it were a perfect world and things worked out ... we would lease that guest house out to a college student [or whomever] in exchange for doing my care and what other arrangements we could make that it would make it work for both parties.
We figure that if we are going to purchase a home it is going to be our last one and we don't want to "settle for" anything if we don't have to.
I think I asked a total of three questions for you.
Lori

I'm on Medicaid Lori,
I know we have the buy-in here in Arkansas so you can actually get medicaid even being employed making 30-40,000 a year but don't know if there's a cap.
I know you're married so I'm not real sure what kind of help as far as cna's you would be eligible for but I'd be glad too help if you'd like.
It is extremely affordable to live here. An average house where you are would cost the same as a mansion here.
We just sold a 4000 ft custom home on a golf course here for $284,000

Not yet Mark. We're still contemplating a move in general. The midwest doesn't have extreme hot or cold. Just the tornados to
think of. LOL.
Can't recall if you get MediCAID help or which?

Lori,
I'm here in Arkansas and I have no problems at all with Health care.
Is there anything specific you need to know about?

How many of you reside in Arkansas? And how is the home health-care situation there?
