I have no syrinx. I can't even concentrate on things due to my central
pain. It has me basivally homebound, because I can't tolerate riding in
the van any more (starts, stops, and bumps and dips in the road aggravate
the back and abdominal pain, and quickly make me nauseous.) Among other
sensations, it feels like all my skin is scraped off and doused with
alcohol, my shoulder blades and vertebrae stick out through my skin, and
my fingers and legs are stuck together. My shoulder blades catch on my
ribs and pop when I move the attached arm, so I can't exercise. My skin
feels like it's ripping when I move or breathe.

Pain is definitely worse than my C-5 quadhood. For almost 25 years now.
