Glad to read that you enjoyed your venture.  Next time bring a lunch or snack bar and make sure you have enough to drink.  This way, if a dead end finds you, all is not lost and you can enjoy a snack while the search party is out looking for you.  Hope you take more of those day trips!

I got my cell phone, so I took my first big outing by myself. Not a real big one, but big for me. In my neighborhood, everyone lives in developments. They all have some kind of main entry and only a few ways to get in or out, and all the developments have their own name. Once inside, the streets can go in crazy directions. The nicer developments are gated. Mine is nice, but the newer ones are fancy. The newest one is only a couple bocks away. It’s gated and has a small lake. I took a “walk” through there out the back side. It was sooooo cool. I sat by the lake and watched a few ducks and harons. Then I went through the developments on the other side. It can be hard to find your way out sometimes. So many dead-ends and culdesacs. I ended up on the main busy road, but it has no sidewalks, only gravel. It’s getting paved soon. I had to take it, I knew I’d never figure out how I get back the right way.  They are building a huge park 3 and a half miles from my house. They will have lakes and all kinds of cool things. But I think that’s a bit too far to go for me.
