You don't sound negative to me.  You sound like a person who has just become to realize that life is going on for them and realize that they need a plan, as well as a backup plan for the future.  That plan includes, what happens if I enter into a relationship and what should I do.  Same would apply to housing and education.  Its part of the foundation of life.

You might wish to make contact with a Center For Independent Living in your area and call them for info.  That would be a good place to start.  Knowing what is available in your area is very important when in the survival mode.

It won't be easy, but I think you will know that going into this.  But it is YOUR future survival.
Best Wishes

I have not become negative and am open to the possibility of seeking out friendships and relationships in my neighborhood and the community but I must admit that I am quite discouraged sometimes of what I will do when my father is no longer available to help me with my personal care in my home as well as for emotional support.

I would appreciate any comments all of you could provide
