Memorial day was origuinally decoration day. A day set aside after the civil war to decorate the graves of those who fell in battle. It was a time when cemetaries where tring on a new image as a park like place for folks to commune with nature while showing respect for the dead and departed. After WW1 it was termed memorial day and moved to the last weekend of May so flowers would be available in most states. Verteran's Day was the 11th day of the 11th month and always will be I suspect. Memorial day we honor those that gave their lives. Veteran's day, we honor all those who have served honorably. Even if you mix them up a little, I think it is ok as long as you do it with dignity.

Whiners can be winners and winners can be whiners. This weekend is the reason that we can do both, whine and win. Its a holiday that used to be known as Veterans Day to honor all those who died while serving in the Military. Later it was changed to Memorial to remember and honor all those before us that have died.
Let us not forget those who were and are injured as they were fighting for the same cause.
So that if you and I wish to whine, we could. And if we chose the path of winning... we could.
May we all never forget the reason.... for the season, Happy Veterans- Memorial Day!

Look at the whiners in THIS group who try to force their ideas of morality on everyone. If the seniors want to smoke and eat themselves to death - SO WHAT? Park out back and drive around them - and mostly shut the hell up - opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and they all stink. Live and let live, you aren't the boss of EVERYONE you know. Dave
