Have you tried hydrocodone or a specific pain med to reduce the spasms? I don't actually 'feel' the sores I get. My body does, however, and it reacts in awful ways. I'll get headaches, blood pressure goes all over, spasms are wicked, ppl say I look awful(that could just be i'm ugly). Pain meds actually help. I stop incescant sweating, spasms quit, headaches go away, I feel damn near human!

I had no idea. I was up so many hours studying for finals and writing papers. There were a few all nighters there. It’s a stressful time during finals. I did do pressure reliefs and changed positions as much as I could. Anyhow when I noticed the sore I got pressure mapped and they decided I needed a new gel overlay for my cushion. Medicare refused it and I live alone. I had to get up. It was healing from the sides but getting deeper. Strange I didn't feel it coming but it hurts like hell now and my spasms are off the rictor . I am maxed out on all spasm meds and they wont consider the pump for at least another 4 months.

My doc has no idea how mine started - he said it might be as simple as an ingrown hair. I was trying a new cushion at the time which had some pressure there as I sat down. Within seconds, the pressure sensation faded and I couldn't tell anything. I was also often sitting up around 18 hours on days when I noticed some 'swelling' the next mornings. My bad, I knew better AND I knew more than the doc - surprise surprise.

I am also praying for you, Stacy! What I'd like to know from you all are- how do these things happen? Is this some freak thing, these deep sores, or are they preventable? It's scary! -kaye
