It raised over 50, 000 dallars for me, I alsobought a van a automatic door opener also a 4wheeler to get around the farm. Now its a anual event to raise money for the needy, I don't know what I would have done if not for such generous people! Nothing fancy. Just a $5 all the beer you can drink type thing. Eric Lori Michaelson wrote: Welcome to this list Paul! Yes, we could all write a book and more! But your post reminded me of something that I wanted to post here for a longtime. Essentially, a great majority of quads are on public assistance of some sort. All of our situations differ greatly but I always wondered that for those who can only have so much money and so much assets [dictated by state or county or whatever] ... how can they possibly afford a van? Especially with the prices these days! And even if they already have a van ... what about all the maintenance, the insurance, and so many other factors? Not to mention if someone had to get a new van? The government has it set up whereby "the system" has many of us to bepractically destitute but does not take into consideration things like vans, home modifications, miscellaneous medical expenditures that are not covered by Medicaid or Medi-Cal, etc., ...... just to scratch the surface! It seems that we all get by one way or another. But has anyone else ever thought of it that way? Peace, Paul
