Billy,I don't wear my head, it is on boom that is over my bed for my bed computer and a stand that is used for microphone when I am in my wheelchair as my monitor moves from the bed to where I can reach it in my chair, and on my desk I have been other gooseneck with a clamp . They both have clamps to hold the microphone. I don't want to be tethered to my computer either. Sorry I did not make that clear.DanaDana,
Thanks for your response. I am unable to use a wired headset, because it tethers me down to the computer. I have been fortunate enough to voice have wireless, but I am looking for a desk mounted microphone which has the ability to filter out extraneous noises. I have seen some, but unfortunately they cost about as much as the wireless microphones.
Good luck and hopefully you will be able to continue to use your system. I would say if it's not broke don't fix it, especially when it comes to microphones.

I hope they are still carrying about the store. I know there's the other stores used to carry such as Circuit City. they seem to work pretty well and are cheaper than the wireless although I would like to try it sometime.Dana
