Depends on the cause. I've had it linger for a month or more. I would get it very bad.

They were from a kinked foley & once from a bad bag that had a fold at the top & wouldn't let anything drain. Mine went away within a couple minute, although from such a terrible headache,,,I would get sleepy afterwards. I don't believe it lingers for anyone after relieving the cause.
