Dana, is the item you had mentioned to check the Roho a mapping device? In the
seating clinic at the rehabilitation Institute of Chicago they have a mapping
pad. A person sits on the device and the computer gives you a readout of where
the most and least pressure is.
It's not foolproof.
My generator cost 4500 it is a Generac and it automatically starts up with a
power outage and turns off when the power comes back on.
That is what I am using for backup for my mattress. My mattress will go flat
in a matter of minutes without power. When this previously happened I used to
get out of bed as soon as I could as I was laying on metal. Dan

I remember some time ago, somebody posted something that you could use with
your Roho decade tell you when you were in your chair if your Roho was going to
low.

I have gotten several sores from that very same cause. I probably saved it
on a computer that I don't have any more.

  Does anybody remember that post?

What kind of generator are you using Dan and the price?
How do you make it automatically begin when there is power outage.
What kind of backup do you use if the mattress loses current or just fails to
work?

We would not know if it lost air just like the Roho. I still will use water
bed, because I don't need turned that often and in my air bet I was told I
would need to be turned every few hours. I don't know the name of it either.
It was the only thing my insurance with cover, I will have to have someone look
on the mattress, it is on the hospital bed I'm not using.

     Hi Dan,

Dave, I have an Ortho Elite air diffuse mattress. It is made by Sunrise
Medical or a company affiliated with sunrise medical. It has worked
wonderfully. It has started making a whistling sound every so often and
someone suggested putting lambs will over it.
The only maintenance that it required is to clean the air filter once in
awhile. It's a simple process. Also, if your area has a history of power
outages you might want to get some type of backup for power because the
mattress will deflate in the matter of seconds without electricity. I recently
purchased a Generac generator for backup that automatically starts when a power
outage occurs.
I am also 30 years Post C 4-5 as a result of waterskiing accident. This past
six months I have been trying to heal pressure sores on my behind and it has
been a challenge. I think I am near the latter stages of healing as I have
been spending a great deal of time in bed. I was sitting on an Quattro from
Roho and I didn't realize that it had an extremely small leak that was
unnoticeable when sunk in water. At one point it just more or less burst open.
The cushion was five years old and that is their expected life. If anyone is
using a Roho and you are approaching five years or later with the cushion
please take notice that there could be problems.

I am looking for a good defusing mattress for the fist time as a Quad. It
will be my first air mattress so I'm taking the time to buy the right one for
me.

Thanks for the feedback. I am going to try the sheepskin. Dan
