Jessica, in the last two years I have had 2 UTI's. Prior to that I hadn't had
any in a good 10 years. Most UTI's are from bugs that can be found in stool.
I read that several years ago and after multiple UTI's every year I became
extreme with hygiene. I was always good with hygiene but now I go over-the-top
somewhat. Changing sheets and washing more frequently can help prevent a
UTI's. Also being careful to keep the catheter sterile when changing it.

How many UTI's do the rest of you get?

i'd say i get a UTI at least once every 2 months, but probably more
frequently than that on average. i had the mitrofanoff procedure a couple years
ago, hoping that if i catheterized more often i would eliminate infections.
unfortunately this wasn't quite the case. i may get them slightly less
frequently but it's not a huge change. anyone else had the mitrofanoff? for
those who don't know what it is:
