I'd do it with the help of family and the best medical care I can find in my

The ground rules have changed completely in the last 17 years regarding SCI
and living the life.
17 years ago, most could expect a minimum of 90 days in rehab, while planning
their eternal future in the real woild.
Today, even C4/5 are kicked out after 30 days of uncertainty. Depending on
the type of insurance you have, can also determine how easy or difficult life
can be. Lawsuits often take 5-7 years before you can expect any reasonable
settlements. Support from one's spouse, family and support group, provide some
interesting insight, during those transition periods.
Then you have the natural survivors. They tend to be extremely rare. Give
them a holy blanket and a feathered pillow and they can sleep in a tent on the
side of a mountain, eat grass and drink dirty water and you can only shake your
head at them... and just wonder.
Its never easy and often not pretty, but I too have seen it done. Paul "The
Impossible Only Takes A Little Longer" Berg, was one of those people. Ed
"Father of CIL" Roberts, is another. Curtis "Superfly" Mayfield, Christopher
Reeve, Judith Human and so many others who faced SCI as a quad, and lived the
life.
No, I don't have the answer. But I know its out there for all to seek....
