The Blue Goose used to fly over lake Michigan years ago.  They used a  turbo 
prop - dual engine rattle box that shook like a bucket full of loose  rivets 
when taking off.  By the way in the middle of lake Mich, you  can't see either 
side - those little 'puddle jumpers' are exciting for  sure.
