I was a victim to gunshot by an x boyfriend also. Just like many of you here we
survived the first few months and the why me stages. I was only 17. But I knew
I was here for a reason. I speak on crime victims behalfs, center for battered
women. I go speak too criminals & officers of how this incident affected my
life. I go speak to jr. & high school students about abusive relationships.
Anyone that will hear my story I'm telling it. So my satisifaction is knowing
that some where down the line I have helped someone somewhere with my testimony
of survival. I was awarded here in my community for reaching out to so many
others. You talk about realizing that my life might be different in a chair,
but the feeling of helping someone else survive is awesome.

Hi Linda,
How tragic, was there something mentally wrong with him. I'm so sorry you had
to go through that. I had heard of this before but never talked to anybody
that experienced. I bet you could write a story about that for other people of
the signs so it doesn't happen to them. How did you get through this.

DIV { MARGIN: 0px } My estranged husband shot my with a 357
magnum, severed my spinal cord at the C4-5 as I was returning home after
surgery. After shooting me he killed himself. It's sad & a waste of life. This
