90.7 FM and WFUV.org, a 50-thousand watt National Public Radio affiliate station in New York City has just completed an enlightening half-hour documentary on disabled musicians called "Musical Abilities." The program features a host of musicians, including quadriplegic singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt and the rock band Def Leppard's one-armed drummer, Rick Allen. "Musical Abilities" also features insight from Joseph Straus, a Professor of Music Theory at the City University of New York. To coincide with the May release of the documentary, Vic Chesnutt is giving an exclusive live performance on Wednesday, May 9th at the Flom Auditorium on the Rose Hill Campus of Fordham University in the Bronx. Vic was discovered by Michael Stipe of the band R-E-M. You can learn more about him at vicchesnutt. com. The Flom is an intimate theater with 100 seats and we'd like to invite interested parties to attend at NO CHARGE. Guests are invited to arrive at 7 pm for refreshments. The performance begins at 8 pm sharp. This is an RSVP-ONLY event. If you're interested in attending please contact WFUV's Assistant News/Public Affairs Director George Bodarky at 718-817-5561 or [EMAIL PROTECTED] org by April 18th.
