The folks that came to Jamestown wanted to get rich. The so called pilgrims had made themselves entirely unwanted anywhere in europe and they wanted religious control, not freedom. Our forefathers were far more interested in money than religion. Thankfully, they made the thingamabob they wrote so it could be changed. They owned slaves for cryin out loud.
