I must agree Mark, that is my absolute pet peeve also. However, the ones
that come up and tell me if I pray hard enough I will be able to overcome
this really gall me. They don't understand their implication is that I
obviously wasn't devout enough. How the hell do they know?
Just my two cents. Please don't get into a religious "discussion."

Makes you wonder Ron, how much of a freak she would have considered you
being, if you had been a millionaire ? It is weird how many look down or
don't want much to do with the disabled. Funny though most of us used to be
fit and able ourselves.I found that more and more people are becoming
accepting and understanding, After a family member or some close friend
becomes injured or disabled--then they can see with more impathy or
understanding. Most people --especially younger crowd feel invincible and
that nothing like THAT" will ever happen to them. Life sure taught me
different, Life's complex trials can strike anyone at any given time, then
we must fight, try to keep as best a possitive attitude and carry on as
best we can. Dan H.

hello guys,

tim mentioned the word freak and it got me thinking about my first
vacation as a quad. anyway about 5 years ago my gf at the time wanted me to
go on her family vacation. as you can imagine i was very hesitant due to
bowell routines every other day, but shes like no problem i can do them it
will be all good

well to make a long story short the place we went was not accessible, the
family members didnt want to accomadate my disability and there i was in a
bad situation. finally as the whole thing was on its final day, my gf, her
lil bro, and mom got in a big fight when i was in the bathroom cathing. i
came out because i heard things being thrown across the cabin just as i came
into my x gfs moms view she points at me and screams, its all because of
that Freak!!!!!!!!!!!

i learned then that prejudice in peoples minds still lives very much, but
i do agree with tim people are forced to deal with us more and in turn we
are being accepted on a wider scale than 30 years ago!!!
