My gosh, I knew he had been a quad a long time and he was probably the oldest that I know of, but I had no idea that he was injured in the 50s. I did, however, meet a quadriplegic who was about the same level as I am (C2-3) who was hurt in and some sort of accident during the last year of the Korean War (1953). I haven't had any contact with him in the last nine years, so I don't know if he has passed, but when I think of all he has gone through it sends shivers down my spine. Quadius I enjoyed reading his postings of what it was back then, vs what is now regarding treatment of those with SCI. He had a talent for explaining it very well.
