Bingo. My daughter in law parked too close to me once so I got an old
countertop out of the garage and decided to lean it up sideways onto my ramp
and
roll off it onto my ramp. Hah not quite - the countertop slipped, I went
cornerwise and got wedged up against her car - in the summer - in 110 degree
heat. Dumb idea. I wiggled my way free after about 30 minutes but really
chewed up her car. I went back into the house and woke her up to move it.
Just
that fast - into and out of the jaws of death. Lucky once more.

It's amazing how the smallest things can put us in serious situations. Years
ago I had a full size Dodge van and me and my pca loaded up to run an errand
but we forgot something in the house. He ran inside to get it and while he
was gone smoke began pouring out from under the dash. There were no windows
open and it was filling up with smoke fast. When he got back he saw what was
happening and got me out pronto. It turned out that a wire had shorted and all
the insulation had burned off. Fortunately there were no flames.

SERIOUSLY I NEED THOSE BEST WISHES. WE DID MANUALLY RELEASE ME FROM THE EZ
LOCK - MY GREATEST FEAR IS BURNING IN A FIRE! THE IDS HAS A 12 MONTH WARRANTY
BUT IT'S NOT GOING TO DO ME ANY GOOD IF SOMETHING GOES TERRIBLY WRONG AND I'M
NO LONGER ALIVE.

YEAH, IT'S TOOK A LOT OF MY JOY AWAY BUT HOPEFULLY THE VAN WILL BE FINE.

JUST THOUGHT I'D GIVE AN UPDATE ON MY VAN. I DID RECEIVE IT ON AUG 8TH. I
DROVE W/ THE INSTRUCTOR ON AUG 9TH FOR 3 HOURS AND EVERYTHING SEEMED GREAT.
STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN MY VAN WOULDN'T GO! THE BACKUP
BRAKE SYSTEM LOCKED UP, IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, IT WOULDN'T SHIFT, IT WOULDN'T
RELEASE MY EZ LOCK, AND TO TOP IT OFF IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF! NO I'M NOT
KIDDING!

AFTER SETTING AT THE LIGHT FOR AN HOUR THE WRECKER GOT IT LOADED AND BROUGHT
IT TO MY HOUSE. INDEPENDENT DRIVING SYSTEMS FROM HOUSTON CAME ON THE 10TH
AND TOOK IT BACK TO HOUSTON. THEY TELL ME IT WAS A BLOWN CIRCUIT BREAKER,
LOOSE
GROUND WIRE AND BAD CONNECTION OF WIRING FROM MY IMS TO IDS. IT'S READY BUT
THEY CAN'T TELL ME WHEN THEY WILL DELIVER IT. OH, AND THEY'RE EXPECTING
HURRICANE DEAN TO ARRIVE THIS WEEK.

Hi Nicki,
I know how long you've waited for your van and the excitement but I'd be
leery to accept this van at all! A bad connection...what else have they done
wrong that you don't know of yet? There is an emergency switch that an ab
person
can pull to release you from the EZ lock in case of another bad connection,
or electrical fire. I understand these vans are modified but is it possible
for legal action to have another built? I've had MANY problems with mine but
it's a 94. At the present my headlights don't work & I just got my lift
repaired.
Best Wishes<-----seriously :-)
Dianna
