Large bladder: The medication Oxybutin, I think, has shrunk my bladder to
about 60cc. It has also shrunken by never having more than several cc of
urine as it drains spontaneous.

I had a large bladder when I initially had my suprapubic procedure done. I
would recommend trying to find a urologist who is familiar with
quadriplegics, if that is possible. I am lucky that my urologist is very
familiar with SCI. Maybe somebody on the list can provide you with a
hospital where such a urologist might exist within a reasonable distance of
where you live.

After thinking about your question Cullen, a supra-pubic by-passes the
URETHRA I'm pretty sure so that should make no difference. It is a small
hole in your lower gut that goes directly into your bladder.

I have had a indwelling catheter since my injury 10 years ago.

I am now having problems with the wear and tear on my urethra. Has anyone on
the list had a superpubic after having a indwelling cath for a long period
of time? Does the fact that my bladder is the size of a walnut make any
difference. My urologist does not know the answer to this question, this
doesn't surprise me, since he doesn't deal with many quads.
