I feel the same way, Joan. I haven';t got a van but I did take a driving class and I'd have a heart attack if I drove. I scare me!I'm lucky enough to have a transit board that gets so much federal money they have to provide some system for us crips. It needs improvement but it is fun at times. You gotta give them some slack,,,,uhm,,because after them there is nothing! It is cheap and you can take anyone person with you free. You have to have an ID card to call them and get a ride and you need to give details about when you might want a ride home. I would have a member card even if I had a van. Its worth it as a backup.I hate the long waits but I take dark glasses and headphones with soft jazz on a cd, and a hat with a few dollars on the inner brim. For those of you who haven't tried begging :D , it is sort of a rush. I have a good time most days but I do take valium when I go on trips. May all your trips be safe and don't forget your luggage.
