Thanks for sharing John!
I did read the C.diff post; and I rarely use antibiotics, however, I do drink
two beers every other day for my kidney's and taste buds.... ahahaha. I was
prescribed two beers a day back in 88' by my rehab doctor (he was a health
nut/marathon runner and a non-drinker); it was after a weekend visit home and a
few beers later I discovered that a few beers replaced the need to be cathed.
My renal tests this week showed my kidney function is that of an AB person. But
the C.diff speaks of good and bad bacteria, and I think that alcohol probably
destroys good bacteria, and promotes the vicious cycle of dehydration. I do eat
yogurt with active cultures, drink tons of water, an occasional soda, but have
now been incorporating more fruits and fiber. I have heard good thing's about
acidophiles, maybe I will try that too.

I haven't had that problem, but since I have had two minor (MINOR) heart
attacks and an irregular heartbeat I began using daily vitamins and
acidopholus. Itake lots of C and I make myself drink a little extra water
because I'm dependant on my kidneys and bladder working as a habit.
I had so many infections with sp and indwelling. My doctor was surprized when
bladder training worked but happy, too. ohyea, I take fibre pills, too. It adds
mass to my early morning "movement". lol.
Another trick with holidays, don't overeat. It isn't worth the hassle. Don't
count soda pop as water since it is really poison. As fast as we loose calcium
and carbonated drinks accelerate that process and dehydrate you as fast as
alcohol, pop is very very bad for you.
I wouldn't mind having a heart with a carribean dance rhythm if it didn't hurt
so bad.
Ohyea, I don't ever take any anti biotic to keep from getting sick. I reserve
them for when i am really really sick, because I'm pretty sure my immune system
can handle most minor infections. I think you should keep an anti biotic at
home, but don't take it if you don't need it. Like when Dr.s give you
Macrodantin to take forever. Hmmm, did you just read about C-diff? I personally
think you'd be better off with a pro-biotic from a healthfood store. If your
system has enough good bacteria then the bad bacteria literally starves down to
levels that don't affect you. You don't even get sick to start with. Don't get
me wrong, there is always some squirrelly little snot nosed kid that hasn't
washed his left hand since last february and is developing a cold into a weapon
of mass destruction, so you will get sick. Just, now the anti biotic works like
it should.
Well, hope that is some help?
I could be wrong about everything, but that is what I think.
Good luck,
john

Subject: [QUAD-L] atrial fibrillation....
Does anyone have trouble with a-fib (irregular heart) episodes? I have mild
episodes from time to time; but Sunday was a pretty bad one! After my bowel
program Sunday my bladder would not release; I void on my own, but my bowel was
full of gas from after being constipated and not allowing my bladder to
release. So after I was beat red in the face and neck (my blood pressure went
up to 194 over 117, my norm. is 90 over 60) my nurse cathed me as we waited for
the ambulance. At the ER they confirmed I was in a-fib; they did abdominal
x-rays and found that I had no blockage, just air. The a-fib was due to
dehydration, gas, not being able to void my bladder and the whole autonomic
response. I went to see my regular doctor yesterday, my heart was nice and
regular. Doc told me how important and crucial my over all health (I knew this)
is, and it is all related to a healthy bowel. My lack of fluids during the
holiday over-stuffed this turkey. I just hope that my
lazy bowel doesn't stop working! Any stories or advice would be greatly
appreciated!
