the last time I was in the hosp., they tried getting me from a wheelchair
into be with a hoyer and an under-the-arm sling. NEVER LET ANYONE DO THIS TO
YOU. lifting a quad by the arms is like lifting a water balloon by the stem.
I screamed bloody murder while I was conscious and they all looked at each
other like "what could possibly have gone wrong"? on top of that - the
electrically operated hoyer wouldn't go down. it was 'stuck'. don't you
think a
little practice would be advised? hospitals, if you don't heal, they'll kill
you.

thanks for the memories john

They got me for the max that waiver would pay which was $3700 14 years ago.
These are short tracks, too. It is important to get a quality lift, although,
these are extremely simple and a tip: Its weak spot is the charger. It
won't take much percussion and its usually expensive. Mine is attached to the
wall by velcro where it can't get hurt and it will pull off before yanking the
wire loose inside the thing. For some reason many seem to come from Canada. If
I had to pay out of pocket, I'd never afford it but mine will lift my
wheelchair off the floor and not strain. I can't say the same for the hoyer or
any human aids. It is an incredibly safe people mover.

Merry Christmas,
john
