Not sure who initiated this, but I used to have terrible leg spasms. Range
of motion does help me, but I discovered that a large part of my spasms are
due to the tightening of my Achilles tendons.

It might benefit you to have someone slowly stretch your foot toward your
chest. Tell them to be careful not to do it in a jerky manner, but to
slowly apply pressure to the base of your foot for about 30 seconds to one
minute. I try to have this done two times a day and it really does help
minimize my leg spasms.

Of course, I have terrible body spasms (that's what I used to use the label
spastic whenever I was on the Internet) which can only be controlled by
quite a bit of medication. By stretching the Achilles I have been able to
minimize some of the medication, but it is a must for me.

Hope this helps some.
