Derrick Go to Microsoft Vista for compatibility software and hardware information. I don’t build web pages, don’t play games on the computer (with the exception of mahjong), use quicken, lots of spreadsheets, access a lot, photos, so I am just a fairly simple user.
I have 32 bit, and I don’t believe I will upgrade anytime soon. I do love the vista speech recognition, but I did not upgrade dragon past version eight, so I cannot tell how much better or worse, vista actually is when compared to dragon nine. I do like the fact that I did not have to buy a new speech recognition program. If you’re in a noisy environment, you’ll have to spring for a great voice canceling microphone. It suits me so far, and the most help I usually need is to turn on. Speech recognition has stopped working for me under 10 times in one year. That’s really great for me, because I am often alone. It has a few quirks, but it also trains itself as you dictate to it. If I have a new noise in the room I use I’d just turn on a training program, and it adjusts itself to the new noise.
