Good story, and we need be reminded what easy pickens we folks are. I was
in Miami for wheelchair games. Word got out how easy cutting back packs
free was and within five days 30 people in chairs were robbed, some paras
were even knocked to the ground. Sure the victims yelled, screamed, or even
fight but those Miami people had this down. They do not need be hard off.
Like picking apples off a tree.

Subject: [QUAD-L] dangers

Hi Everyone.

At the beginning of this week, I was in Indianapolis Ind. for a
Governor Board meeting. My CAN and I had some hours before the meeting, so
we went to the mall in downtown Indianapolis. While we were in the mall she
stopped because, this guy was trying to sell make up in the middle of the
mall. So, I stopped with her to listening to him trying to sell us the make
up. All at once she had seen that someone had stolen her over night bag that
was on the back of my wheelchair. Well she started running down the mall
trying to find her bag. I went after her and we found a policeman. She told
him that someone had stolen her over night bag from me and that she was
angry that someone was so hard up that they would steal from a disability
woman. The policeman told her it happens all the time.

You might be wondering way I'm telling you this story. I do not want it
to happen to you. When you are out in the public be aware we are vulnerable
to those who are dangers. My CAN told me to get a little bell on my book bag
then if someone tries to take it I will hear it and just back up and nock
them down and start yelling. I know I will be ready for anyone who tries to
steal something from me.
