Hi John, Other Q's:

I *was* taking "methanamine" that has the efects you mentioned (i.e. breaking 
down to formaldehyde in an acidfic environment).  High protien, prunes and 
cranbery juce ar supposed to lower urine pH.  Brand name was Hiprex.

My uro-doc discontinued it due to the SP.  Said th bladder needs to hold urine 
with a pH f 5.5 or less to work.  The SP didn't allow enough urine to stay long 
enough to help.  pH won't get low enough to turn methanamine to produce enough 
formaldehyde.

But, Hey... I'd still check on it.  Everyone's diifferent, and maybe 
"mendelamine" is too, right?
