I'm sorry about the interruption but this sounds serious. I agree with Dianna
that water around the heart and pressure in the area sounds like congestive
heart failure. Whether or not it resulted from quad, a cardiologist should be
able to remove the fluid. If there's concern about the physician knowing
nothing about quad maybe the primary physician could refer you to someone who
knows. Might have to do a lot of googling to find a qualified physician in your
area. www.webmd.com might be helpful.

>I haven’t heard of other quads getting it, but a few months ago I ended up
in the ER. One of the things they did was take some x-rays of my chest area.
One of the things in the report from the techs was that there was some water
around the heart. It was not related to my UTI and they said it was no big
deal. But for some time now when I lay totally flat, my breathing feels weird.
I can’t really describe it right, kind of like it’s heavy, but not like
when it’s pneumonia. It sometimes feels like it groans, then feels better. If
I sit up a little, it goes away. I’m going to go see my primary, but he knows
nothing of quads. I’ll ask for another x-ray so they can compare them to see
if it is worse. And ask if I should see someone about it. It’s not bad
feeling, kind of like lightly tight muscles. It might just be my abdomen area
muscles tightening a bit from my muscles stretching when laying flat. Or
irritated from the SP cath. It’s just hard=2

are the symptoms my dad gets when he's having problems. He'll sleep in a
recliner because it gets to the point where he can't breathe. (Laying down)Talk
to your primary, he SHOULD have you see a heart specialist. It sounds like
congenital heart failure and I don't see why they would say it's no big deal.
It could stem from weak lungs. I'm not a specialist but I lost my mom in 06 to
emphyzema & her heart would do this from lung complications & my father has
heart problems so I know what he does. Water on his heart has been a big
problem. They might start you out with water pills.
