When a UTI is present -- especially a symptomatic one including fever, dark dark urine, etc. -- get your ass on the RIGHT antibiodic ASAP! No fooling around until culture* and sensitivity* reports are back.
THEN resort to possible prophylactics like cranberry capsules, reducing potassium levels, etc. to avpoid future ones.
