You left out size and depth. Foot wounds are absolutely the worst because doctors always figure they can cut it off if they don't get the healing they want. First, see a burn doctor or wound specialist to be certain it is debreided. There are dressings premade for a heel. You need a bunch. It must be kept clear of infection so there is no compromizing, everyone must use sterile gloves, not just exam gloves. Once it is clean you can go ahead with Miracle Myst or trypsin. We each seem to have our own thing that works best. I do not pack a wound. I do not use peroxide or betadyne on wounds because the kill the good bacteria with the bad. If you have some really good people with being sterile, regranex works great. You want to promote the growth of healing bacteria. If you do it right it starves the bad bacteria and heals quickly. You must protect your heel, so its going to look goofy. Do not let your guard down. I have gotten infections through the wound that almost killed me and I do believe that was Christopher Reeves final ordeal. I'm a big believer in stitching up a clean wound just to eliminate time that a germ could get you. Watch for the symptoms of AD coming on. Take vitamins and eat good food. I can't say enough about nutrition. You have my prayers and best wishes, john

After that we changed to sandles too keep the pressure off it and see if it would get well. But--after 3 months we tried to put on tennis shoes again ( the right size this time ) and it broke open and bled .......my family doctor don't know how to treat it and sent me to a foot doctor-( podiatrist ) . The foot doctor just said to keep wearing sandles and ran a lab test on the blood, and said I had regular staph infection from the blood at wound site......so he put me on Augmenton 875 ML. twice a day for a while. My wife puts either anti-biotic or silver sulfadiazine cream on it and covers it with a bandaid, Do any of you know of a better way to treat it??? I was wondering about miracle mist or any other product or treatment I should try?? I have never a any pressure wounds since ICU over 11 years back,, and never any on my feet. Any Idea's from the group would be appreciated ( because we don't know what to do about it ) Thanks You All for any Input. Dan H.
